WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE EL SOBRANTIAN REVOLUTION!

Kirk Hammett - Metallica Les Claypo - Primus/Festus Clamrod and the El Sobrante Thwangers John Kiffmeyer/Al Sobrante - Sweet Children/Green Day
Do you know what the people above have in common? They all came from El sobrante.
Kirk Hammett is a guitarist in the band Metallica. He was born in San Fransico but grew up in El Sobrante.
Les Claypo is the lead singer and bassist of the band Primus. He and Kirk Hammett used to go to school at De Anza. He made on song on his album "Takes form the Punch Bowl" called "De Anza Jig". In it he sings about the Shell station in El Sobrante and what not. Claypo even sings "Sweet Home El Sobrante" a rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama". Before he changed his group name to Primus his group used to be called Festus Clamrod and the El Sobrante Thwangers.
Back before they where Green Day they where Sweet Children. The drumer, John Kiffmeyer/Al Sobrante, was from El Sobrante. His stage name, Al Sobrante, was from, well.........El Sobrante. The other members of Green Day where from Rodeo and actually went to Pinole Valley High. Al Sobrante was later replaced by a diffrent drumer and Sweet Children became Green Day.
Even this small town can produce a few "famous" people. When I become famous I'm gonna but El Sobrante on the map........
cause I'm gonna be a famous map maker.
